A Call to Prayer, Lament and Solidarity

Our Passionist Family Gathered in Communal Prayer
    LIVE BILINGUAL ZOOM EVENT

    Monday, February 16

    4 p.m. ET | 3 p.m. CT | 2 p.m. MT | 1 p.m. PT

As a Passionist Family formed by the Memoria Passionis, our hearts break at the profound suffering being experienced by vulnerable families across the United States.

We have witnessed families torn apart, innocent people disappeared in the system, fear spreading through our communities, and the murder of neighbors–immigrants, refugees, and American citizens alike–by the U.S. government. These realities stand in stark contradiction to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our Catholic Social Teachings on the dignity of the human person.

Our Passionist Constitutions tell us that Christ’s “Passion and death are no mere historical events. They are ever-present realities to people in the world”. Today we stand, once again, within the Passion of Christ, in all its rawness, and turn to each other.

    Lament is sacred.

    Prayer gives us strength.

    Solidarity keeps us faithful.

We invite our Passionist Family to gather for a shared time of prayer, lament, and collective care. Together we will name this suffering before God, grieve with those who grieve, and ground ourselves in our Passionist roots and the courage of our founder as we discern our way forward with Gospel clarity and compassion.

Join us for a time of communal prayer that will be a powerful witness of faith, conscience and hope.
